Dark Tenerife was made on Tenerife, looking towards Pico del Teide across a sea of cloud that erases the middle ground entirely — what remains is mass, atmosphere, and silence. The volcano emerges in the distance, its outline precise against a sky that has not yet decided whether it is night or morning. The image was made in black and white to reduce the scene to its essential geometry: the weight of the mountain against the stillness of the cloud, and the thin strip of sky above both.
